Learn a bit more about Trust Collective.
Trust Collective launched in early 2025. We, along with many other people, decided that it was time to use Bluesky as a key social network because we had lost trust in others.
When we came to Bluesky, we saw that the unique protocol nature of the social network created an opportunity for communities to build trust, collectively.
We're excited at that opportunity. We can use this technology to vouch for each other, to develop community standards that we hold each other accountable to, and that we use to promote trust amongst each other.
We have a vision of social media where trust is possible.
We see spaces where we can be anonymous if we want to, but also if we claim our identities in whichever way makes sense to us, our community members can help us build ways to verify that we are who we say we are, and that we're doing what we say we're doing.
We also see social spaces online where people care enough about each other to warn each other about content that is dangerous, or challenging.
We can leverage the power of this protocol to do that.
We have as our mission offering a community-based labeling service for Bluesky.
Guided by principles of community deliberation and cooperation, we will use our service to offer voluntary labels to users to verify their accounts in ways that they want verified, using methods that are defensible to the community.
We will maintain privacy but vouch in an open, transparent manner.
We also see our mission helping build safety, through moderation labels warning users of dangerous or challenging content, only after a careful review and consideration of context.
